About Brit 0

Apr15

I’m married with two kids, one girl and one boy. You can learn more than you’ll ever want to know about my family life at TheMansellStory.com.

I grew up in Florence, AL where I lived until leaving for college. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2001 with an undergraduate degree in MIS. From there, I moved to Atlanta and worked for Accenture for almost five years as a business consultant. At that time in my life, the corporate world was moving too slowly for my liking.

The next career move took me to Docupak in Alabaster, AL as a web designer where I met some great people and made some lasting relationships. I outgrew that position after a couple of years and moved into a lead designer role at Intermark Interactive.

My career ambition has always been to run a small, but very efficient group of web designers and developers. I took the first step toward that at the end of 2008 by transitioning myself from full time employment and rebranding my company as Octane Media. Since that time, I have been blessed in that work has always been there and I have been able to grow the business and relationships. I’m very excited as to what the future holds.

Other stuff:

  • I raced professional motocross for a while (amateur for almost 12 years, pro for 2)
  • I am a grease monkey at heart and was a motorcycle mechanic for a few years at a local cycle shop before going off to college
  • I am a Marine and served in Kilo Battery, in Huntsville, AL, for eight years. While there I was a marksmanship instructor and a martial arts instructor.
  • I’m an avid mountain biker and road biker
