Additional Displays on Mac Book Pro 3

Aug18

I have finally found a Mac driver for the UV Plus+ by EVGA. Now I’m not constrained to only two displays on my McBook. So, now for $99 (or less online) you can hook up an additional display to your laptop, or desktop for that matter.

You can also connect additional displays to your MacBook Pro using a TripleHead2Go. It uses your system’s GPU so you get great 3D and video across all monitors. You can get up to 1920×1200 resolution on two additional monitors, or connect three extra monitors (though max res on each is 1280×1024).

I have seen the TripleHead2Go before. It looks to be a great product, but at about three times the cost of the EVGA piece, it should be. :-)

The EVGA works perfectly on Vista using my MBP, so I’m confident that once they get the driver issues worked out it will be fine in OS X as well.

I would like the higher resolution of the TripleHead2Go, though.

The TripleHead2Go makes a single virtual screen that spans two monitors. The EVGA makes a single screen. I prefer the EVGA so my windows can snap to the screen.

The USB lag is better, but still a little annoying. :)
